Retour aux sources certainement suite à la déception de certains fans qui reprochaient à la fois le côté un peu trop chasse à l’homme à la 24 Heures Chrono. En effet, nos héros se retrouvent à nouveaux sous les barreaux. Et, d’après les rumeurs ici et là, enfin surtout la nouvelle résidence de Scofield serait un laboratoire ! Le projet Sona est un projet de manipulation génétique. Michael a été génétiquement modifié (retour aux sources) ce qui expliquerait ses capacités hors du commun.
Il va découvrir qu’il est le pion d’une gigantesque conspiration visant a créer une nouvelle race de super homme. Tout a été monté afin de tester et prouver ses capacités. Son père travaillait (et travaille toujours) pour ce projet. Mias une question se pose,s'agit-il de simples rumeurs ou de véritables fuites
